PURCHASE tickets here before June 14
Join Voices of Monterey Bay for a special night of musical theater, featuring Newsies: The Musical, the popular Disney stage production presented by PacRep Theatre in Carmel on June 28.
A ticket for the Voices’ benefit includes a seat for the show and a special reception in the Golden Bough Theatre lobby prior to the curtain. About half the price of the ticket will help fund continued operations of Voices of Monterey Bay, a nonprofit news operation. PacRep Theatre is also a nonprofit, and one of the more successful reparatory theaters in California.
Voices selected Newsies because, well, because we are news nerds and this production is about a labor strike against a New York City newspaper organized by newsboys. The antagonist in the play is Joseph Pulitzer — yes, that Joseph Pulitzer. There will be singing. There will be dancing. And if that doesn’t entertain you, the crew from Voices of Monterey Bay will be there.
Maybe you can get one of them to tap dance in the lobby during the reception!
Ticket prices are $40 for adults, $25 for children 12 and under. (And, yes, this is a family-friendly event.) Admission includes a ticket to the show and a pre-curtain reception in the theatre lobby. The reception, which includes light snacks and beverages, begins at 6 p.m. The show starts at 7:30 p.m.
As an added bonus, John Mescall will provide musical entertainment on his cello during the pre-curtain reception. You’ll remember Cello John from the stories Voices has done about him, including his harrowing escape from the Camp Fire to the time his cello was stolen in San Francisco. Listening to John play surf music on his cello is worth the price of admission! Secure your tickets to the play and the reception now!
Purchase your tickets here and we’ll deliver the show tickets to you at the reception.
This is a happy family event. Your children and/or your grandchildren are welcome.
IMPORTANT NOTE: Deadline for ticket sales or reservations is June 14, so order yours now.
