I read the solid write up about the Republican Women event in Carmel Valley. I thought it was remarkably fair, given my perception of left-bias around this community.
There was one point I would correct. I didn’t see a Sheriff with a clipboard. I saw (and spoke to) Monterey Peninsula Regional Park Rangers doing that task. They are charged with overseeing the grounds there. BTW, not sworn officers.
The Sheriff definitely had a presence there and I am very grateful, both that they took the threats of Anti-fa/Blackbloc seriously and that no one used black-block tactics.
