I read “Meditations on Life in Prison Under COVID-19” and want to extend my gratitude to Johnny Angel Martinez for his story. Currently I am editing a book written by a former inmate who was incarcerated for several years in his 70s. His book will be distributed free to prisoners across the country.
Mr. Martinez’s article delivered a clear-eyed and candid perspective on being trapped inside prison walls surrounded by a world crisis. He may have felt helpless, but his story can have impact. I will do my part to share it with the outside world and I hope at some point he is released into a safer, saner world.
