  1. House 3. These are/were smart people who were focused on the areas of the human condition they they could improve. Leon (a brilliant mind) and Effie Fortune are/were very religious and their debates with Royal (also a brilliant mind) would be epic. Effie was a giant in the arena of California art and proved that there are women whose massive artistic talent was wrongfully eclipsed be early 20th Century misogyny. O’Neil and Hagar have raised the joy of life (for those of us who are lesser beings) in the area as of sport and music. And Jeffers understood both the value of hard work and that aspirational desires of a man can be exemplified best through the written word.

  2. House six would be highly amusing, just to watch Angela and Mary gang up on Sam Farr. I could hang with Neil and Ed to egg them on. It would be hard to ignore Cesar and Morley in House one, though.

  3. House 3. Hagar and Jeffers could have an epic poetry slam. O’Neill and Fortune can riff on the ever-changing California coastline. I’m sure everyone, including Royal, would have a lot of questions for Leon. House 4 was a close runner-up.

  4. House 5 for me, although it was a hard choice; now that I see Leon Panetta will be there, too, it is a no brainer!

  5. at first, i was going to choose house #1 because Cesar Chavez. But then I saw house #6 and I’m all in for that one…
