Genealogist to Talk All Things Family at Luncheon

Dayna Jacobs, an accredited Genealogist, will address the Double Nickels Luncheon for those 55 & Up on March 14. Luncheon begins at 12 noon at the Church of the Good Shepherd, 301 Corral De Tierra Rd, off Hwy 68 between Monterey and Salinas. Jacobs will offer us ideas about engaging in the search for our family roots.

Jacobs, a native Californian, has lived in Monterey County for many years. She has been researching, teaching and writing since 1988 and has been on staff at the Monterey Family History Center since 1998. To the delight of her audiences, Dayna has presented classes at the local Ancestor Roundup, the Northwest Genealogy Conference and more. Her genealogy blog, On Granny’s Trail, is a resource for Western States research and beyond. She serves as a Commissioner on the International Commission for Accreditation of Professional Genealogists. Her two books are “On Granny’s Trail” and “The Fairy Tale Genealogist” (a light-hearted look at genealogy records).

Double Nickels, a monthly luncheon of deliciously homemade food, is a service of Good Shepherd and Episcopal Senior Communities for the benefit of the 55 and Up community. A suggested donation is $5, but is not required.
