Monterey County Seeking Designers for First-Ever Flag

Monterey County is looking to create its first-ever official county flag and local artists are invited to submit designs.

Only 24 of 58 California counties, including Santa Cruz, San Benito and Santa Clara, have adopted an official flag and Monterey County could be next!

Art designs for the flag emblem are needed. They should embody the history of Monterey County, consider color schemes and elements from various parts of the county such as historical landmarks and local wildlife, agriculture, coastline and rivers, and mountain ranges.

Artists submitting a design must live in Monterey County.

The deadline to submit designs is January 30th. For full details about submitting your artwork, check out http://www.co.monterey.ca.us/countyflag or call 831-755-5840.
