Anti-Racism Events Scheduled for Two Months

There are  many wonderful anti-racism events happening in January and February sponsored by Whites for Racial Equity. 3-5 p.m. Jan. 13: Film showing of Mighty Times, the Children’s March, Monterey Peace and Justice Center, Seaside.

11 a.m. to 3 p.m. Jan. 15: March in celebration of Martin Luther King Jr., beginning at Noche Buena and Broadway in Seaside.

11 a.m. to 3 p.m. Jan. 20: March at Otter Soccer Complex at CSUMB.

2 to 4 p.m. Jan. 21:  Film showing Brother Outside, the Life of Bayard Rustin at the Monterey Public Library

7 to 9 p.m. Thurs, Jan 25: Film showing of Whose Streets, what happened in Ferguson at the Unitarian Universalist Church

1 to 5 p.m. Jan 27:  Part one of a 4 part series/pilot program looking at White Folks Becoming Allies in Racial Equity Work, at CSUMB

7 to 9 p.m. Feb 6: Book club on Uprooting Racism at the Unitarian Universalist Church

7 to 9 p.m. Feb 8: Convocation, with keynote speaker Professor Kimberle Crenshaw at Santa Cruz Auditorium

2 to 4 p.m. Feb 1: Book event and interactive workshop with author Paul Kivel, Uprooting Racism, at the Unitarian Universalist Church

6:30 to 8:30 p.m. Feb 13: Journalist Shaun King to speak at CSUMB

1 to 5 p.m. Feb 17: Part two of a 4- part series/pilot program looking at White Folks Becoming Allies in Racial Equity Work, at CSUMB

7 to 9 p.m. Feb 22: Film showing of the 2016 movie Birth of a Nation at the Unitarian Universalist Church
