I loved reading Gilbert Bao’s story of his tamales on Christmas inside Soledad prison. Unless he killed someone I do wonder why he has been incarcerated for 19 years. How wonderful that he is getting an education, takes responsibility for his being inside, and continues the tradition of making tamales. I was especially taken with his praise for his daughter. Thank you for publishing this heartfelt story and thanks to Gilbert Bao for writing it. Your Inside project is well on its way!
