Boys and Girls Club Unveils Little Free Library

(SEASIDE, Calif.) – Little Free Libraries can be found throughout the Monterey Peninsula, including sites in Pacific Grove, Carmel, and elsewhere. These quaint structures offer free neighborhood book exchanges, a chance to read something new, and a way for neighbors to get to know one another. The Boys & Girls Clubs of Monterey County is proud to announce their very own Little Free Library at their Seaside Clubhouse
thanks to the generous work of local community leaders.

Staff and volunteers on Wednesday, November 29th, unveiled the Club’s fully-stocked Little Free Library before a group of 2nd and 3rd graders eager to get an up-close look at the assortment of books.

Long time volunteer, Nanci Perocchi came up with the idea for the library. Ken and Jan Rudisill, with Harvest Construction, donated the materials. Harvest Construction builder Toby Keller, meanwhile, designed and built the library. “Myself and my wife, Jan, have always contributed to the Boys & Girls Clubs and we will continue to do so,” said Ken Rudisill.

Boys & Girls Clubs of Monterey County Associate Vice President Ron Johnson said the books in the library are available to everyone in the community. “With a Little Free Library right outside the Clubhouse main entrance, books are available to our neighbors 24/7,” Johnson said.

The Boys & Girls Clubs of Monterey County is located at 1332 La Salle Avenue in Seaside and 85 Maryal Drive in Salinas.
