 City of Santa Cruz Invites Community to Celebrate 30th Anniversary of Sister City Alushta

SANTA CRUZ, CA— The community is invited to meet and talk with friends in the City of Santa Cruz Sister City of Alushta, Crimea in celebration of the thirtieth year of the sister cities relationship. Skype will be used to facilitate the intercontinental dialogue at the Santa Cruz Police Department Community Room, 155 Center Street, on Saturday, Nov. 4, from 10 a.m. to 12 noon.

Alushta Mayor Galina Ogneva, former Mayor Stanislav Kolot and several longtime volunteers who have kept the program alive during the past thirty years will participate via Skype. There will be an exhibit of memorabilia collected from Alushta as well as a discussion on present plans and programs between the two cities facilitated by the City of Santa Cruz Alushta Sister Cities Committee and Parks and Recreation Department staff. Light refreshments will be served.
