To the Editor:
A compassionate and insightful story by Kathy McKenzie. Congratulations to Sen. Bill Monning for this much-needed legislation. Warren Church made a difficult decision with his family supporting him. The only regretful part of the story was how difficult and expensive the end-of-life process was for the family. In a free country, a terminally ill and suffering patient who chooses this option shouldn’t have to jump through so many hoops to exercise his rights. I hope in the future, this solution will be available and easier for those who truly want and need it. And I hope I can take advantage of it when my time comes.
