Central Coast Community Radio has been raising funds to start a community radio
station in the wake of the shuttering of KUSP last August. So far the group is 2/3 of
the way toward their $300,000 goal.

The station will air a mix of local news, interviews, and music, celebrating the rich
cultural and political environment of Santa Cruz County. Public service will be at the
heart of the station’s mission, amplifying the activities of nonprofits, businesses,
schools, charities, and individuals doing positive things for the area.

The purpose of the listening tour is to learn what people want and need to hear, and
to galvanize volunteers.
