VOMB and SUP come together again to interview Steve McShane, candidate for the District 4 area seat of the Monterey County Board of Supervisors.
Both supervisorial candidates, McShane and Wendy Root Askew, had already been interviewed by Voices co-founder Joe Livernois in the VOMB Squad podcast. But Oz Lucero, founder of the Salinas Underground Podcast, lives in District 4 and wanted a chance to talk to the candidates. Claudia Meléndez Salinas, co-founder of Voices of Monterey Bay, came along for the ride. Together, they have interviewed Carla Viviana Gonzales, who’s vying for the District 1 seat in the Salinas City Council; Anthony Rocha, seeking the District 6 seat; and Orlando Osornio, candidate for the District 4 seat. Up next: interviews with mayoral candidates Chris Barrera, Kimbley Craig, and other city council members.
In his interview with the SUP-VOMB squad, McShane touted his endorsements as proof he can bring people from different walks of life together, and said he believes police officers have not been asked their opinion in the ongoing debate about diverting money from law enforcement to fund social services.
