Election 2020 Interviews: Vanessa Robinson, Candidate for Salinas City Council, District 6 Salinas Underground Podcast

| PODCAST

VOMB and Salinas Underground Podcast presents their interview with Vanessa Michelle Robinson, one of three candidates running for District 6 in the Salinas City Council race in the Nov. 3 election. Also vying for the seat are Mars Rocamora, Jr., a businessman, and Anthony Rocha, who is currently a board member at Salinas Union High School District. The SUP/VOMB venture has already interviewed Rocha, and the interview with Rocamora will drop in a few days.

Although Robinson is a newcomer to local politics, she’s not new to elections. An elementary school school teacher in South Monterey County, Robinson has held several positions with the California Teachers Association. She talked about growing up in Salinas and the skills she’s learned as a teacher that make it possible for her to confront difficult topics with a level head.

Hosts Claudia Meléndez Salinas and Salinas Underground Podcast founder Oz Lucero are on a mission to interview every candidate for Salinas City Council and the 4th District Supervisor’s position before the Nov. 3. Check Voices of Monterey Bay’s election archives often for updates.
