Read to Me Project book drive set for March

The month of March honors the birthday of Dr. Seuss. It is also National Reading Month and time for Read to Me Project to conduct a book drive for putting books in homes where there are none, or rare early-literacy experiences being provided to young children.

Read to Me Project, the County’s prevention-based early literacy program that is uniquely reaching pre-kindergarten aged children in their homes, needs new and gently used books for children ages 0 to 12 years.

From March 1st to 31st, book donations will be accepted at the YMCA of the Monterey Peninsula, BookWorks in Pacific Grove and River House Books in Carmel.

Look for the “Read to Me Project Book Drive” barrel at these locations. Friends of the Pacific Grove Library, office at St. Mary’s in Pacific Grove will also accept book donations at very specific times. Please check the Book Drive page on www.readtomeproject.org for details, location addresses and more information.
