Hospice Giving Foundation Launches Discover HOPEGives Together

Hospice Giving Foundation understands end of life is a tough topic, yet it is a very important issue that touches all of us.  They’ve also found that when given the opportunity, most people want to talk about it.  To make conversations about end of life easier and more approachable, and to join efforts happening around the country, HG Foundation is launching HOPEGives: a community health movement to shift societal attitudes about death. By deepening understanding and acceptance, HOPEGives helps individuals and families experience peace of mind through advance planning and compassionate end-of-life care.

To kick off the movement, HG Foundation is hosting a free community event– Discover HOPEGives–at Hidden Valley Music Seminars on Saturday, January 11th from 12:00 – 4:00 PM. This free community experience will include resources, information, and great conversations about end of life. Local doctors will be there to talk about palliative care and hospice care.  There will be activities for the entire family. HG Foundation President/CEO, Siobhan Greene remarked, “This is good for our community; good for our peace of mind. All ages are welcome, and HG Foundation is here to guide people through it.”

In addition to the free event, HG Foundation is concurrently hosting a very special art workshop: GRIEF TO BEAUTY – Creating Earth Altars to Honor our Lives and Death from 12:30 – 4:30. This 4-hour workshop with Day Schildkret of Morning Altars, will guide participants through a 7-step grief-healing process creating earth art through a meaningful collaboration with nature. The practice of building Morning Altars helps strengthen relationships to impermanence and learn to let go of our resistance to change. Fee is $30 per person and limited to 40 participants. Advance registration is required.
