Toy Drive benefits students of East Salinas

For the sixth year in a row, the Alisal Family Resource Centers Network and the Cesar Chaves Futbol Academy are teaming up for a holiday toy drive. Until Dec. 13, the three resources centers of the Alisal Union School District will be collecting new, unwrapped toys to be delivered to needy children living in East Salinas.

The delivery will take place on Dec. 20 at a festive event that will include a visit with Santa Claus, hot drinks and snacks.

Alisal Union School District educates more than 8,500 students, 1,000 of whom are considered homeless. This is an opportunity to bring some cheer to these deserving children.

Founded in 2011, the Cesar Chavez Futbol Academy trains boys and girls ages 5 to 15 in the fundamentals of the sport, free of charge. For more information about the academy, or to donate for the toy drive, visit www.CCFAfutbol.org
